Boku Massage

I am so excited, because I have a gift certificate for a massage. I'm in love with massages. I got it from Matt for Christmas (he knows me so well). I am going to Boku Massage, which by far has some of the best prices. I know there are a lot of places out there that do this, but seriously, if you live in the SL Valley, go see her. She's so sweet, and like I said, good prices! I've only been able to get a short chair massage from her before, but I'm telling you, she's great. I'll let you know how the hour session goes(yay!).

Mary and Max

One of the perks of living in Utah is the Sundance Film Festival. It's one of the few cool things we actually get to claim. I (sheepishly) am admitting I have never been before. Simply because the idea of really cold conditions and rubbing shoulders with self-proclaimed elitists isn't my idea of a good time. And, well, it just hasn't worked out before. Because seriously-if someone gave me free tickets, I would make the 25 minute drive up the canyon. Which is exactly what I did last night with Matt. And because (bonus!) it was at a small theater in Kamas, which is about 15 minutes from Park City. No crowds! No lines! Cheap popcorn and treats!

But let's talk movie. We saw Mary and Max. I didn't know much about it, except that is was claymation (one of my favorites, btw) and it had the voice talents of Toni Collette and Philip Seymour Hoffman. I usually like to see movies with no-name people in them at a film festival, but it was free, duh. I cried during the movie! I don't cry, much less admit to it. But oh my, was it a good movie. So dark and real, and so happy and sweet. I was so happy about it that I had say something. I'm pretty sure it will get some sort of distribution, even if it's only at very few theaters. I'm buying it.

baking fool

I baked a lot this weekend. Mostly chocolate. I don't have pictures of the cookies I made, but here is the recipe.

It's been a while,

sorry.

I took Matt downtown to Hotel Monaco on Saturday for a quick quasi-getaway for graduating this past semester. My plans worked out really well, because I had planned to see the BodyWorlds exhibit before it ended yesterday and upon finding out that it was open 24 hours all weekend, we decided to go late Saturday night. GLAD WE DID. It was sold out and crowded as could be, with a line that had a 2 hour wait. We left around 1am. geez. Aside from our poor feet aching like crazy, it was so worth it. Absolutely outstanding exhibits. It's very thought provoking to see your body laid out in front of you to see all the details.
We ate at an Irish restaurant for dinner (YUM), and ate at Bambara for breakfast (YUM YUM). Matt was pleased, and we had a great time.

ps. did you know Hotel Monaco is pet friendly? They let you bring your pet for free, and they provide all the stuff your little friend needs. So fun...
